Apache AH64D RNLAF - Gilze-Rijen Airbase - the Netherlands 2008
Airbase Gilze-Rijen starts with evening flies. On every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 18.00 up to at the latest 23.00 the Apaches will fly. The fly movements take place especially in the suitable layer fly areas and the direct surroundings of the airbase. The programme stands planned up to April 2008. Evening flies are necessary to keep the Apache pilots on high level. The training pierces himself on all aspects which have the aviators for the current mission in Afghanistan necessary. Exercises are e.g. kept with night visibility equipment and flies on low altitude. During the “evening fly season” also regular jointly with the transport helicopters of the airbase Soesterberg.
