In spite of cheerless weather, 100 the years of flight was a successful event with the arrival of some particular airplanes. Nevertheless the publicly was amused on the 6 of September. However by the current legislation at the inspection of transportation, could organize Aviodrome no fly show. However that there was enough to see for the the people. A number of airplanes came to lelystad. DC2 (NC39165/PH-AJU) stationed in lelystad and DC3 (Ph-DDZ-Doornroosje) DDA, DC6 (G-APSA) of Air Atlantique and Ju52/3mg8e (D-CDLH/d-AQUI) Lufthansa, were flying that day, Also The Lockheed Orion from Valkenburg in a brand-new colour diagram was flying, probably for last. The basis Valkenburg will become in 2005, definitively closed and the Orions go then in sale.
It was a long time ago that the sound of a DC6 was to be hear, The public enjoyed the beautiful airplane from United Kingdom. Also on the static show there was I lot to do, a lot of the airplanes came from Aviodrome. In the autumn of 2003 Aviodrome will open its doors at Lelystad Airport. The complete day flew the Ju.2 and DC3 of DDA with guests.Time enough for me to make nice pictures of both planes. At last a formation of several airplanes came by and gives a salute to the audience. Maybe next year the will be a real Air Show at Lelystad, Lets hope for that.
